Bhutan is a tiny asian country bordering with India and China, the country produce so much hydro electricity and sell to India some of that energy, the country faces several issues like buy cooking gas from india in a cylinder as houses are build poor and unable to support electric oven and cooking stove etc. And for the citizens bill isn't cheap either some bills are as much as persons minimum wage. And if you look up minimum wage there is like ngultrem 100 a day equivalent to US dollar 3 to 4 even less depending on exchange rates. Thats why low income people struggle to survive even for food. Modernization is kind a big rush right now. The govt tried to implement electric cars but didn't work because the infrastructure is not the best. But there are good ideas too, like the fact that the government is preserving under law 60 percent of forest, absorbing more Co2 than what they create. Free education and free health care is provided by government and its our kings vision says that never should be changed for future generations which is excellent. You wont see this even in some of the richest countries in the world, really incredible what a tiny country can accomplish.
